If this agreement had not been concluded, the traffic on our networks would have been much higher. In fact, we estimate that BT’s broadband customers, if they switched from channel 4 to live streaming of the match, could have generated total traffic north of 8 petabytes. 30-0.

You could call it a “cache prize” – BT delivered some of the finale to customers on a new Qwilt platform. Qwilt’s pioneering open caching platform, used on Cisco’s cloud infrastructure, empowers BT to deliver premium video and on-demand services in the UK. As streaming and downloading of large game files continues to accelerate, content caching at the edge is one of the innovative solutions helping BT meet the growing demand. 40-0.

Stars like Emma and Leylah will only push this demand further. Kudos to Emma for her incredible success at the US Open. May this continue for a long time!
