HUNDREDS of Barclays customers were unable to access online banking after an outage on Wednesday.
According to downdetector.co.uk, technical issues hit the bank around lunchtime but appear to be resolved now.
The problem began around 1:30 p.m., affecting people in a number of locations.
According to Barclays service status page. online banking was having problems.
A message read: “We’re sorry, there is currently an issue with online banking – we are working to resolve this issue.”
But it now says the problem has been fixed and “everything is working as it should”.
ATM withdrawals and card payments are working normally.
The bank said it was also experiencing a high number of chat help messages and response times could take longer.

Downdetector showed over 200 outage reports, with online banking and online connections affected, as well as mobile banking.
Barclays has a dedicated page on its website which indicates if any services are affected by an outage.
It includes both Barclays and Barclaycard apps, websites, and telephone and online banking.
