Barclays online banking crashes, preventing users from signing in

HUNDREDS of Barclays customers were unable to access online banking services after an outage on Wednesday.

Technical issues hit the bank around lunchtime, according to downdetector.co.uk, but appear to be resolved now.

Online banking is down at Barclays bank

The problem started around 1:30 p.m., affecting people in a number of places.

According to the Barclays service status page. online banking was having problems.

A message read: “We’re sorry, there is a problem with online banking right now – we are working to fix it.”

But now he says the problem has been fixed and “everything is working as it should”.

ATM withdrawals and card payments work normally.

The bank said it was also encountering a high number of chat help messages and response times could be slower.

We have asked the bank about the issue and will update when we have a response.

Downdetector has posted over 200 outage reports, with online banking and online connections affected, as well as mobile banking.

Barclays has a dedicated page on its website that indicates if any services are affected by an outage.

It includes both Barclays and Barclaycard apps, websites and telephone and online banking.

You can also check out websites like downdetector, which will let you know if other people are having issues online with a particular business.

Barclays provides banking and savings services, while Barclaycard is a brand of Barclays credit cards.

Can you claim compensation for bank failures?

Unlike telecommunications companies, banks do not have a fixed compensation plan for service disruption, although depending on the impact it has on you, you may be entitled to a refund.

It is worth gathering evidence of your problems so that you can file a formal complaint with Barclays or Barclaycard directly.

Try to keep track of when you were unable to access the website or app, as well as any charges you incurred as a result.

If your credit rating has been affected by a service outage, because you received late payment fees after being unable to complete a transaction, for example, you should also keep track of them.

If you’ve spoken to someone to try and resolve the issue, write down their name and when you spoke to them, as well as what you pretty much discussed and what they advised you to do.

You can find more details on how to file a complaint with Barclays and Barclaycard on their websites.
