[ad_1]

Bluetooth audio accessories of all kinds are found in abundance, and true wireless headphones are the most competitive of the lot, especially on the affordable end of the spectrum. Coming out on top requires high-level precision and a perfect price-feature-functionality ratio. The EarFun Air S earbuds are fresh hit and just entering this cutthroat arena.

EarFun is by no means a new player in the game, which gives it an edge over some of the other competitors. The brand already has experience making some of the best cheap headphones, setting the bar high for its latest pair of wireless headphones.

Going into this review, I wasn’t worried at all, as EarFun has proven itself with the Air Pro 2 and Free headphones in the past. The question I was really looking to answer was, how good can these buds be? It turns out that these wireless headphones are spectacular in many ways.

The EarFun Air S true wireless headphones look suave, as does the charging case. It has a premium feel and the black color has an interesting glossy sheen to it. The case lid opens very satisfactorily and the hinge feels extremely solid. You will be delighted with the quality and appearance of these adorable Bluetooth headphones.

The headphones stored inside the flat oval-shaped case feature a stick-shaped design that makes them slim, mean and sexy. You also get four extra ear tips in the box to help you find the perfect fit for your ears. EarFun chose a really light and comfortable construction with a secure fit for this model. The end result is a pair of ergonomic headphones you can wear for hours.

The luxurious nature of these earbuds doesn’t stop at their fit or construction. The insides are as superior as the outside, giving you premium features like wireless charging. If you choose to charge your EarFun Air S TWS headphones using a cable, there’s a USB-C charging port on the back. EarFun provides more accessories in the box, like a Type-C cable and a small cotton swab to clean the buds.

The playback delivered by these Bluetooth headphones is incredibly durable. You get around 30 hours in total on a single charge taking the case into account, and enabling active noise-cancellation mode reduces that time to around 25 hours, which is still pretty impressive. When your battery is running low, you can use the EarFun Air S earbuds’ quick charge feature to get two hours of playtime from a ten-minute quick charge.

EarFun’s Air S wireless in-ear headphones are powered by the Qualcomm QCC3046 chipset. These headphones feature 10mm wool composite drivers and support Qualcomm aptX, AAC and SBC audio codecs. EarFun sets an almost perfect soundstage for most people, with high levels of clarity and perfect highs. The mids and lows are well balanced and the sound is fruity and lively. I found it incredibly enjoyable across a wide range of music genres as well as media content such as vlogs and movies.

There’s a custom equalizer in the companion app if you want to tinker with the sound and customize it for your ears. An app with an equalizer gives you more control, which consumers deserve, especially when paying a premium for the product in question. However, I didn’t find the need to change the preset, much to my surprise and delight. This is one of the rear sets of wireless headphones that I didn’t immediately bother with when accessing the EQ.

EarFun sets an almost perfect soundstage for most people, with a fruity and lively sound.

The noise cancellation on these buds is splendid, and you can always turn transparency on when you need to hear important sound, like traffic noises or a child crying. While the ANC won’t remove flagships like the Sony WF-1000XM4, the EarFun buds hold their own against budget rivals closer to their own price point. EarFun has also integrated a gaming mode into the Air S wireless headphones, combined with 100ms low latency to make it your ideal gaming partner besides music playback, call answering and power consumption. other media content.

These cheerful and fashionable headphones from EarFun support multipoint connection so you can seamlessly connect to two devices simultaneously. Thanks to Bluetooth 5.2 and a range of 15m, I encountered no disturbances during my tests. The touch controls on the EarFun Air S true wireless headphones are fantastic and respond exactly when you want them to respond.

The call quality in these headphones is top notch thanks to the quad-mic system and cVc 8.0 technology of the EarFun Air S Bluetooth headphones. The sound is clear and crisp, and minimal background noise is transmitted to the end receiver.

Very little to dislike

What goes up must come down, as the saying goes. This wonderful pair of true wireless earbuds from EarFun are so successful. For me, this is the perfect pair of headphones for almost anyone. Still, there is one small fact that might ruffle some feathers.

If you like swimming with your headphones on, you might have some qualms about the waterproofness of the EarFun Air S headphones. Some might not find IPX5 durable enough for their needs, as it’s only resistant to sweat and light splashes of water. ‘water. You wouldn’t want to spray them with liquid or jump in the pool with these buds. In this case, it is undoubtedly a disadvantage.

Competition

Anker Soundcore Life P3 Ear-worn Headphones

EarFun Air S true wireless earbuds compete in a crowded market. To properly compare, let’s look at the sub-$100 tier of Bluetooth headphones with similar specs.

Anker’s Soundcore Life P3 buds are a great alternative that comes in five vibrant colors. Soundcore promises 35 hours with ANC off, five hours longer than the EarFun Air S headphones. The Soundcore Life P3 buds are $10 more, but you’re missing out on an IP rating. Overall, Anker Soundcore offers good value for money with wireless charging, a great app, and six mics.

Another similar pair of Bluetooth headphones with the same Qualcomm QCC3046 chipset and wireless charging is the Tronsmart Apollo Air+. You get great sound production, but the looks department suffers from the bland, glossy design. The Apollo Air+ true wireless earbuds don’t have such good battery life, but they are more robust due to their IP45 water and dust resistance. Not to mention that their price has dropped to $50 now.

Another stellar pair to consider are the Creative Outlier Pro headphones. These are some of the best looking buds I’ve ever seen, with a charging case straight out of the future. They’re more expensive, but you’ll be overjoyed when you discover the insane 60-hour battery life. Creative also includes ANC, wireless charging, and a few nicer features.

Should I buy these headphones?

You should buy these buds if…

  • You appreciate a well-balanced sound
  • Wireless charging is important to you
  • You want great battery life
  • You need a custom equalizer
  • You need headphones with ANC and an ambient mode
  • Low latency is a plus

You shouldn’t buy these buds if…

  • You need more robust water and dust resistance

So far, I know I’ve talked a lot about the benefits of the EarFun Air S earbuds. To put things into perspective, understand that I test A LOT of wireless earbuds from many price points and brands. The Air S headphones from Earfun undoubtedly take the crown in the mid-range slice of the Bluetooth headphone market.

The EarFun Air S headphones have many alternatives, but all other competitors have a greater number of disadvantages. Some competitors are more durable and robust, while others are not. So the IPX5 rating just isn’t enough for me to take points off the overall value package you get.

Go ahead and buy the EarFun Air S true wireless earbuds wholeheartedly, whether it’s for casual, professional or enthusiast use. They work just as well at the gym as they do while gaming or streaming music. You won’t find much, if anything at all, that you don’t like. These headphones are a fine specimen of well-made in-ear Bluetooth headphones. They are very comfortable, produce perfect sound, allow you to customize the sound and have a great battery life.
