We love being on our laptops, smartphones, and iPads, and the internet is the main reason we spend so much time on these gadgets. Thanks to the Internet, people can share information and communicate from anywhere. In today’s world, it’s now easier than ever to access the internet, whether you’re using a phone, computer, or tablet. There is no doubt that many young people are spending more time online, with both positive and negative consequences.

One of the advantages of the Internet is that young people can get knowledge and the latest news from different fields so that they can broaden their horizons by simply searching for various information – just enter a few keywords and you can get millions of information. from the Internet. In addition, young people can do their research for their school work, which often helps young people to expand their knowledge and improve their grades. Another aspect of the Internet is that people can practice foreign languages ​​by chatting with friends in other countries. It’s also a great way to keep in touch with friends and family around the world.

The other benefit is shopping online. Internet shopping has become popular with young people because it is very convenient to buy various goods without walking long distances to a mall. Books, clothes, food, even weird and interesting products can be found on the internet. All you have to do is click the mouse, wait a few days and pay at the ATM or convenience stores. Shopping on the Internet can be very easy and quick for young people to buy what they need, especially when they don’t have much time to shop.

On the other hand, there are also negative consequences of the Internet. It can be extremely addictive for youngsters. They might spend too much time on the internet, neglecting their studies. There are so many entertainment options on the Internet that a young person who is in school can be distracted from their studies. For example, students could play online games or take videos and photos and post them to Instagram or TikTok before an exam when they should be spending time studying. This could affect a student’s academic performance. Additionally, excessive internet use can mean that some young people barely talk to their family because they are always on the computer. The internet can cause young people to become victims of cyberbullying as well as negative comments, harassment, threats, humiliation and torture, which can lead to depression.

While using the internet, you might be exposed to various forms of vulgarities such as violence and pornography, while some online games involve a lot of violence which may upset children. Therefore, teenagers might be exposed to such content affecting their mental health.

Young people need to use a computer or smartphone to access the internet, but prolonged use of smart devices can contribute to various physical problems such as neck, back and eye pain, especially from light emitted by the smart devices which cause many eye problems.

To sum up, spending time on the internet can have a negative impact on young people, but it also has advantages. The Internet is an incredible tool; however, young people should be careful not to overuse it and always open up to their parents if they see something they don’t like on the internet. It is also very important, as a young person, to educate yourself on the right way to use the Internet. you must know the advantages and disadvantages of the Internet. Do some research before you start using the internet.
