On October 22, a webinar “A New Kind of Dictionary:” A Syntactic Dictionary of Russian Poetry “was organized by the editorial board of the journal” The Russian Language in Schools “as part of the seminar” Real Problems study and teaching the Russian language in the modern world ”, working in 2021 under the auspices of teachers of the Russian society of language and literature.
The webinar was moderated by Natalya Viktorovna Patroeva, Doctor of Philology, Head of the Russian Language Department at Petrozavodsk State University. She presented the work of the design team of the Russian Language Department of Petrozavodsk State University, related to the creation of a database of the syntactic dictionary of classical Russian poetry, revealed methods of research and processing procedure for grammatical and textual material. The first two volumes of the “Syntactic Dictionary of Russian Poetry” were published by the “Dmitry Bulanin” publishing house in 2017 and 2019. in St. Petersburg.
In the report of NV Patroeva, the aspects of the description of the sentences present in the “Syntax dictionary of Russian poetry” were presented in detail, the structure of the dictionary was examined, examples of tables with syntactic contexts and their analysis were given, as well as as a summary of the statistical data obtained during the analysis of the work of the poets were proposed. -the classics (among them – AD Kantemir, VK Trediakovsky, MV Lomonosov, AP Sumarokov, MM Kheraskov, GR Derzhavin, AP Radishchev, NM Karamzin, II Dmitriev).
The report aroused great interest within the scientific community; colleagues assessed the work carried out as colossal work, contributing to the development of syntactic science, and expressed their hope for further work on the creation of new volumes of the “Syntactic Dictionary of Russian Poetry”.
