Injuries from car crashes in Mississippi
In a negligence-related accident, a victim can sustain serious injuries that lead to long-term consequences. Unfortunately, vehicle accidents often result in injuries ranging from serious to catastrophic.
Some of the most common injuries resulting from car accidents in Mississippi are:
- Neck injuries: Neck injuries caused by car accidents are commonly referred to as whiplash. This is the most common injury, as it can occur in almost any type of accident, even a low-speed fender-bender. The more serious the car accident, the more long-term complications can arise from increasingly severe cases of whiplash.
- Head/brain injuries: A common result of serious car accidents is brain trauma or other head injury caused by the sudden impact and the resulting uncontrolled movement of the head. The impact may cause the victim’s head to strike the steering wheel, vehicle frame, dashboard, or airbag deployment, resulting in long-term or permanent trauma.
- Spine/Back Injuries: Spinal and back injuries are among the most serious. For example, a major back injury can cause irreparable damage to your spinal cord. If these nerves are damaged, it can cause paralysis. In some cases, you, a victim, will lose full functionality in your lower limbs. The worst-case scenario for a spinal injury ends in quadriplegia, which causes immobility in the arms and legs.
